The Liqueur

Four ingredients, four people and one goal:

To make a damn fine coffee liqueur.

Cross Brew is a rich, full-bodied coffee liqueur made from a darkly roasted blend of coffee, a new make spirit base, sugar and Scottish water.

It's the product of a shared love for coffee, spirits and design. Hopefully it shows.

The Team

  • Mike Aikman & Jas Scott

    Mike and Jas are two respected names in the bar industry. Their three Edinburgh sites, Bramble, The Last Word Saloon and Lucky Liquor Co. have consistently raised the standard for hospitality over the last ten years.

    Independently, they take a hands-on approach to making and mixing ingredients. Jas heads up the syrup, cordial, and gomme production for the three bars and Mike makes a range of bespoke liqueurs including Lucky Liqueurs.

    Both are proud fathers and husbands and make their homes in Edinburgh.
  • Ericka Duffy

    Ericka has worked in perfumery for a global company, has spent years trying to understand coffee as a barista (and as a philophy, so to speak) and has worked with two bars that have appeared in the Top 50 Bars in the World during her tenure.

    Her role is both creative and technical and unifies every facet of the business. She really thought coffee was going to be a part-time job when she became a barista in 2002...
  • Dan Bartley

    Dan has always liked to drink but it wasn't until he wandered into one of Jas & Mike's bars that he realised that getting tipsy was a side-effect rather than the reason to do so.

    As he was 'educated' over the years, his design and photographic background provided many a bartender with help on their aesthetic output from label design for bottles through to website development for competitions or brand expansion.

  • Cross Brew & Tonic

    50ml Cross Brew
    100ml Fever Tree tonic water
    Build over cubed ice in a hi-ball glass and garnish with a lemon wheel.
  • Cross Brew & Cherry Cola

    50ml Cross Brew
    100ml Cherry Cola
    Build over cubed ice in a hi-ball glass and garnish with a maraschino cherry.
  • Negroni

    20ml Cross Brew
    30ml Campari
    30ml Punt e Mes
    Pour everything over cubed ice in an old-fashioned glass. Stir to dilute and chill slightly.
  • Cross Brew & Coconut

    50ml Cross Brew
    100ml Coconut Water
    Build over cubed ice in a rocks glass and garnish with dehydrated lemon.
